Last weekend, Dan and I stayed at The Pinery overnight for some R&R and outdoorsy time. This was our third trip to this location (my fourth), which is about 2 hours from home, and is a park that we enjoy every time we go. People generally associate camping with kids/families/budget travel options, but camping offers more than that – it is time outdoors, being active via hiking/swimming/canoeing/etc., while ideally disconnecting from the busy world at home (minimal phone/Wi-Fi use) and just enjoying the scenery and the company. AND it can be quite fun – even for childless adults like us!

I am WAYYY behind on photo processing and sharing my images on my 'official' channels, but moving forward, I will be sharing some of my recent photos at least once a month via my blog. So here is a photo post dedicated to June’s Summer Solstice! Bring on the flowers and the sunshine, baby!
One of the perks of committing to one area for several years is discovering the best local foodie restaurants near home. Having lived in Toronto for over 6 years during my university days, I knew of numerous local hot spots that my friends and I would gravitate to, and often. Now, living out of the city and in the suburbs for the last 5 years, I’ve had to rediscover what constitutes ‘the best restaurants’ in my neighbourhood – the best in the ‘Tri-Cities’ area. Here are a few of my favourites!
Let’s be honest – life is busy! There’s always a to-do list, new additions to your routine and sometimes even setbacks. We are often focused on future tasks and plans, BUT, it is also incredibly important to be in the present. To ‘stop and smell the roses’ more often than we do and just be mindful of the moment.
Post #101 and thanks for the last two years of reading my posts! This week I would like to share more about the activities we signed up for on-site at Glendorn. You may have seen a few of my pictures from our Glendorn getaway last week (if you didn’t, you should check ‘em out), so this week, I’m highlighting the fun experiences we had with Jim and Charles learning about shooting, as well as fly fishing!
