In addition to my Disney Experience post (Part 1) last week, the second half of our Orlando trip was spent at Universal Studios. Universal was, for the most part, more enjoyable than Disney was for a few different reasons, but I think the weather definitely had a big part to play. The lines were significantly longer, but the rides were more adult-themed and more fun for the whole family rather than just the kids. Here is an overview of our adult trip to Universal (without kids and with lots of flexibility), as well as observations and tips for future Universal Studios visitors.
We had reserved our trip via Reserve Orlando and purchased a package which included the 3-Day Magic Your Way pass for Disney (one park per day) and the 2-Park 2-Day pass at Universal, as well as our hotel stay at the Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista (with complimentary shuttle service to/from each park daily and access to each area via the monorail). We planned to take Uber to/from the airport and the shuttle bus to/from the theme parks for convenience and to save some money on transportation. Most of our in advance research focused on Disney (since we both had never been there), while Universal, with my friend having been there 10+ years previous, took on more of a go-with-the-flow approach.
