I leave for Taiwan next Thursday and was completely calm until I made a quick ‘to do’ list yesterday and realized I still have a lot of s*** to get in order! I booked my flight, renewed my passport and booked my day tours weeks ago, and made a mighty-fine day itinerary, but I haven’t really reviewed details since. But now it’s crunch time!
Before my last trip to Turkey, I felt incredibly calm and unconcerned about any of the details (though G Adventures had my entire itinerary planned out for me, with how much money to bring, where I would be staying, and all my transportation pre-arranged). This time around there’s no guided tour. Thankfully, most of the on-location transportation and hotels have been arranged by my friend and travel buddy Li-Ling (who I roomed with in Turkey!), which has been a load-off my plate; she graciously invited me to join her when returning to see her family. Honestly, I wasn’t planning another big trip this year (and I have to start saving for my honeymoon now too), but opportunities like this don’t come around every day. So, I readily jumped at the opportunity for a spur-of-the-moment adventure!
Yesterday I wrote down everything I still need to do:
So, still lots to do… and I’m sure there’s a few things that I’ve forgotten. I can't contain the wanderlust, and the excitement is starting to boil-up! And I'm really looking forward to the warm weather (expecting a high of 25°C and low of 19°C in Taiwan, compared to a predicted high of 5°C at home next week). I can’t wait to see Taiwan!
