It’s been a while since I wrote a resource post, so here’s one that anyone who loves travel should take a peek at. Below are 5 travel blogs that I follow and why I follow them. This is not a sponsored list, just an introduction to a few fellow wanderlusters who I hope will inspire you too. There are several others out there that are also worth a look (links below).
1. Young Adventuress (Liz)
Why do I follow her? I really like Liz’s style of writing – down-to-earth and writing exactly what’s on her mind [with no filter], and I love that. Her style and flow make posts easy to read, and she always has some good visuals too. Her personality definitely shines through in her writing and her sense of humour and attitude are quite entertaining. She’s traveled to 50+ countries (often solo) in the last 10 years, so I’d say she has some good travel stories to share.
2. Goats on the Road (Nick & Dariece)
Why do I follow them? Their content is interesting and concise, and I find myself scrolling through their newsletter and reading their posts because the tips and resources they share are helpful for anyone interested in budget travel. They are long-term wanderlusts (going on 8+ years) who previously worked various on-location jobs, but are now digital nomads and house-sit for fun. Plus they’re Canadian!
3. Teacake Travels (Alice)
Why do I follow her? I really enjoy reading about Alice’s adventures and appreciate her ‘bring it on’ attitude – her style of writing is unique and interesting, and she’s got a great outlook on solo female adventures travel! I love her approach – to defy girly girl stereotypes and be a strong, independent woman and not to be afraid to travel solo. Ladies, if you need some motivation to travel and get outside your comfort zone, check out her blog – going 7 years strong.
4. Expert Vagabond (Matt)
Why do I follow him? Matt has some pretty good tips and resources for budget travel, and he has no problem sharing them. He also loves adventure, nature and photography (as do I) and his posts inspire getting out of your comfort zone to see the world. Backpack on back, he lives a minimalist digital nomad lifestyle and shares his travel adventures (after 7 years on the road, he recently decided to settle down in the US, but still plans to travel regularly). His posts are concise and to the point, and I appreciate that.
5. Alex in Wonderland (Alex)
Why do I follow her? Her topics interest me – she writes about her travel lifestyle, but also has hobbies related to photography and scuba diving, and both interest me as well. Her writing style is also easy to follow and she has a good flow to her posts. She’s a full-time digital nomad traveling on her own terms, and has been doing so for 6+ years.
